There are number of treatments that the FDA has approved for use outside of controlled clinical trials. This does not mean these treatments are guaranteed to be effective, as clinical trials are still being conducted. Below are a list of treatments that your doctor may be able to give you or a loved one if they decide it is the best course of action in your specific case.

 FDA Emergency Use Authorization 

EUA is reserved for "unapproved medical products or unapproved uses of approved medical products to be used in an emergency to diagnose, treat, or prevent serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions caused by CBRN threat agents when there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives." 


 Expanded Access/Compassionate Use 

Expanded access is "a potential pathway for a patient with an immediately life-threatening condition or serious disease or condition to gain access to an investigational medical product (drug, biologic, or medical device) for treatment outside of clinical trials when no comparable or satisfactory alternative therapy options are available."
